Portfolio Presentation
This photo was taken for the line and shape assignment.
What I like about this photo is how the feather is precisely positioned in between the E to give the photo a focus point. My point of view was from above. The photo follows the rule of thirds because the feather is positioned right above the center to catch the viewers eye. The depth of field is large. The ISO was set to 100 and the White Balance was Daylight. |
I selected this photo because I thought there was exquisite pattern and texture within this photo. Also there was delightful positive and negative space in between the pieces of wood. Compositionally, there is pattern, texture and repetition because each piece of wood has a different pattern and texture and how they are positioned creates a sight of repetition. Also there is positive and negative space in this photo shown by the extreme dark black spots in between the pieces of wood. To take this photo I had the camera set on a fast shutter speed and a large depth of field.

Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is line and shape. It's appealing how the lights can make such a shape using a slow shutter speed. There is also rhythm and repetition seen in this image because the motion of the light continuously moves in a circle. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the background to be darker to emphasize the light. The camera was set to an ISO of 400. This photo communicates/reminds me of/ makes me think of being spun around and getting dizzy.

This photo was taken for the aperture/depth of field assignment. What I like about this photo is how each letter going down becomes more and more unfocused, to me it seems fascinating. My point of view was up close and straight on. This photo follows the rule of thirds because the letter is A is the most focused and is centered almost in the center which draws the viewers eye. The depth of field is small. The ISO was set to 500 and the White Balance was fluorescent.

I selected this photo because I love how focused the baseball is and how the light is positioned to gleam off Emily's face and the baseball. Compositionally, there is point of view and positive and negative space because the baseball is the main focus of the photo and there is positive and negative space within Emily is and the baseball. Also there is the rule of thirds shown in this photo. To take this photo I had the camera set on a large depth of field.

This photo was taken for the double exposure assignment. What I like about this photo is how well the two photos blend together and how is creates a mystery. The photo follows the rule of thirds because Brooke's face in all the way to the right side of the photo. The depth of field is large because it's all in focus. The ISO of Brooke's self portrait was set to 3200 and the White Balance was incandescent.
