Shutter Speed and Motion
Fast shutter speed questions
The shutter speed I used was 1/4000. The ISO setting was 400 and the WB setting was cloudy. The action I froze was of Brooke doing her jump. The distance wasn't to far away and the point of view was straight on. There is pattern and repetition within the lines on the ground and the windows on the school in the background. Also there is great contrast with how she is centered in the middle of the photo.
Slow shutter speed questions
.The shutter speed I used was 1/40. The ISO setting was 1600 and the WB setting was incandescent. The action I froze was of my blowing on the pinwheel to make it spin. The distance was normal distance but zoomed in and the point of view was straight on. The positive and negative space is easily shown throughout this image. The complementary color scheme is dynamic. Also there is great texture in the pinwheel.
Painting With Light
The second photo on the top row is a demonstration of painting with light, by using a flashlight we created an eligant pattern of moving the flashlight back and forth. The shutter speed on the camera that was used to take this photo was 8 seconds. The light source used to create this painting is the flashlight that had 5 lights on it. By achieving this effect Emily took the flashlight and waved it side to side going down. When looking at this image, I believe the viewer would look at it as being very eligant and peaceful.
Aperture/ Depth of Field
SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD
In the last picture of the candy land pieces I used an f-stop of f/11 to achieve this shallow depth of field.
I used an ISO of 500 and set the white balance as fluorescent.
LARGE DEPTH OF FIELD
In the first picture of the scrabble letters I used an f-stop of f/36 to achieve this large depth of field.
I used an ISO of 500 and set the white balance as fluorescent.

In my opinion the last two photos are better because it has better lighting creating the photo to appear clearer and more appealing.
You would want to use a shallow depth of field because it makes the viewer focus on one specific part of the photo that is in focus.
You would use a large depth of field when taking a photo of a landscape.
